Electric Coffee Makers
There are almost as many different types of electric coffee makers on the market as there are types of coffee drinkers in the world. Because each person who drinks coffee has a specific preference on how they would like it to taste, it can be difficult to find a coffee maker that suits an individual’s needs. There are many things that must be considered when choosing a coffee maker; some of the most important features are programmable brewing times, pause-and-serve, temperature, pot size, price, and last but not least, taste.
One of the most well known brands in kitchen appliances is Cuisinart, so it should come as no surprise that one of their electric coffee makers is considered by some to be the best. The Cuisinart Brew Central DCC-1200 provides several functions that make it more convenient to use than other machines, including programmable brewing, pause-and-serve, auto shut-off, an adjustable temperature hot plate and a small batch setting. The small batch setting is especially nice for individuals who live alone or when only one or two people want coffee. While the price tag reflects these amenities, it is worth the money according to most customer reviews. On several different cooking and appliance oriented rating sites it is the highest rated electric coffee maker.
Another highly rated coffee maker is the Braun AromaDeluxe KF510. While this machine is considerably less “fancy,” most customers say the coffee is very good and give it high ratings. While it does offer a pause-and-serve feature, it unfortunately lacks many of the other features that make the Cuisinart model so popular. With fairly high ratings and a lower price tag, this coffee maker is still a great option.
The final electric coffee maker that I will discuss is the Bunn NHBX-B Home Brewer. This model has a built in coffee grinder, which means that you can select the type of brew that you would like each time you make coffee. Also, it keeps the water in the tank heated to the correct temperature, so brewing a 10 cup pot of coffee takes only three minutes. Like the other brands that have been discussed, Bunn is a well known manufacturer of electric coffee makers. The price is closer to the Cuisinart than the Braun, but most customers say that it is well worth the cost.
While there are many other kinds of coffee machines out there, the three that I have discussed offer many of the features that should be looked for when looking to buy a coffee maker. As with any purchase, each customer should look at several options to find the one that is best for them.
